X-Pak's Dunnage Bags - Dual Bags System provides an innovative solution for securing voids larger than 400mm during transport. Specifically engineered as a certified alternative to timber dunnage framing, these robust bags deliver superior load stabilisation for challenging cargo configurations across road, rail and sea shipments.

X-Pak Dual Dunnage Bags are a reusable and environmentally friendly solution designed for securing cargo during over-the-road transportation and intermodal shipments. They offer an economical and easy-to-use method for stabilising loads in voids within truck trailers and shipping containers. Customisable to fit any cargo need, X-Pak Dunnage Bags are crafted with precision, starting with virgin resin that is extruded, woven, and laminated to ensure the highest quality standards in the industry.

Each bag is equipped with a spring-loaded filling valve for rapid inflation and deflation with our Inflate-X Pro unit or air compressor, streamlining the loading process. They are meticulously tested to international standards, delivering a reusable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional void-fill methods.

As part of X-Pak's commitment to sustainable practices, this environmentally friendly product is eco-friendly due to its reusability and the materials they are made from. They can be reused multiple times before needing disposal or recycling, reducing the need for constant replacement and minimising waste. What materials are used in dual dunnage bag construction?

Dual bags are typically constructed from layered kraft paper or polyethylene with internal inflatable plastic chambers. X-Pak dual bags utilise Woven Polypropylene external layers paired with Co-Extruded Polyethylene internal coatings. These materials are selected for their robustness, flexibility, and puncture-resistance capabilities.

Are dual bags recyclable products?

X-Pak's dual bag range features 8% recycled content. As Australia's only completely vertically integrated manufacturer, we continuously research ways to reduce virgin material usage in our dual bag production while maintaining premium quality standards.

Can dual bags be reused multiple times?

Yes. Our dual bags support several reuse cycles when maintained in good working condition. The integrated valve mechanism allows straightforward deflation for repeated deployment. For 'closed loop' logistics operations, we strongly recommend dual bag reuse programs.

What's the procedure for deflating dual bags?

Dual bags can be deflated using two techniques:

Method 1: Inflate-X Pro 'Reverse Mode' - These systems provide the fastest deflation process for efficient dual bag emptying. Remove the air hose from its normal position and reconnect to the 'Air in' valve on the system's side.

Method 2: Metal Key System – For easy valve operation (protecting hands), insert the metal key into the dual bag valve and rotate to 'Open' position for air release (clockwise turn). Essential: Always rotate valve to 'Closed' after deflation and before re-inflation to ensure correct functionality.

Both methods enable effortless dual bag reuse while preserving valve integrity for ongoing applications.

How do I choose the right dual bag size for my cargo?

Dunnage bag sizing depends on void spaces between your cargo and container sidewalls. Accurately measure these gaps and select bags capable of filling those spaces when correctly inflated. X-Pak offers complimentary site assessments to recommend optimal bag sizes for your specific shipping requirements.

Are bag valves universal across different brands?

No. Approximately 5 different valve types exist in the Australian dual bag market, each manufacturer-dependent. Some standard valves offer cross-compatibility. When in doubt, contact X-Pak to confirm compatibility between your bags or inflation equipment and existing setups.

Can dual bags be positioned at container doors?

While frequently used to fill rear-container spaces (between products and doors), this isn't recommended from a load-security perspective. The primary concern is bag ratings typically cannot withstand complete force from significant load shifts during transit. For large door spaces, we recommend container sheeting or certified tie-down systems like our Inflatable Door Tarp.

What methods are used for dual bag inflation?

Dual bags are inflated using two main approaches. The conventional method employs compressed air systems. We provide pressure-gauged inflators that attach to air supplies and inflate dual bags to predetermined pressure levels. Alternatively, Portable Inflation or battery-powered systems (like our Inflate-X Pro) offer fast, convenient dual bag inflation.

Are custom dual bags available for special applications?

Yes, subject to minimum order requirements and your specific needs. Situations involving uniquely shaped products or large void spaces may require specially designed dual bags. X-Pak's technical team can assist with any void-filling requirements you may have.

Will dual bags resist damage from sharp objects?

Yes, to a reasonable extent. We always recommend using protective sheeting such as corflute or cardboard barriers between dual bags and sharp edges wherever possible.
