PET Tool Servicing

Keep Your Strapping Tools Working the Way They Should

Battery PET tools and steel combo tools take a beating in tougher Australian conditions. Dust, tension fatigue, inconsistent products used and worn components all build up over time. Most issues don’t show up immediately. They show up as:

  • Inconsistent seals
  • Strap breakage under load
  • Slower packing times
  • Higher strap waste
  • Increased risk during transport

That’s where a proper servicing program comes in.

Identify worn or failing components early

Provide a clear report before any additional work

If parts are required, we’ll walk you through it first. Nothing proceeds without approval.

Why It Matters

Protect Your Load Integrity

Strapping performance directly impacts load stability. Poor seals or inconsistent tension can compromise compliance with the CTU Code and NHVR Load Restraint Guide.

Extend Tool Life

Regular servicing reduces premature tool failure and avoids unnecessary replacements.

Reduce Downtime

Planned servicing is far easier to manage than unexpected breakdowns during peak dispatch.

Lower Total Cost

Less strap waste, fewer failures, and less requirements for new tools all add up.

How Often Should You Service?

We recommend:

  • Every 12 months as a minimum
  • Every 6 months for high-use operations

We can also set up automatic reminders so it doesn’t get missed.

No Lock-In. No Purchase Requirement

Loan Tool Option Available

You don’t need to have bought your tool from X-Pak.  If it’s running PET or steel strapping, we can service it.

If your operation can’t afford downtime, you may be eligible for our loan tool program. We’ll talk you through options based on your setup.

Any Questions? We’ve Got You Covered.

Here’s everything you need to know about how our service program works.

How do I know if my PET strapping tool needs servicing?

Most tools continue to operate even when performance has started to decline, so the signs tend to show up as inconsistent seals, strap breakage, or slower operation rather than complete failure. If your team is noticing changes in tension, sealing quality, or increased strap usage, it is usually a good time to have the tool checked.

We generally recommend servicing every 12 months for standard use, with higher volume operations often benefiting from servicing every 6 months to keep performance consistent and avoid unexpected issues.

The service includes a full inspection, internal clean, calibration to correct tension and sealing performance, and functional testing, along with pickup and return delivery so your team does not need to manage transport.

If any components are worn or need replacing, we will provide a clear recommendation and cost breakdown before proceeding, and no additional work is carried out without your approval.

Yes, we regularly service tools that were not purchased through us, as long as they are compatible with PET or steel strapping systems.

No, the servicing process is designed to maintain the condition of your equipment and does not impact your existing warranty.

Most standard services are completed within a few business days, and if parts are required, we will confirm timing with you before proceeding so you can plan around your operation.

In many cases we can provide access to a loan tool, which helps maintain continuity in your operation while your equipment is being serviced.

No, the program covers both battery PET strapping tools and steel strapping combination tools, and we can confirm suitability if you are unsure about your equipment.
